The difference between a diesel engine and a gasoline engine

Diesel engines and gasoline engines are the two most common power units in automobiles. Because of different fuels, diesel engines and gasoline engines work in different ways.
Automobile teaching instruments are mainly shown in the following aspects. Firstly, the injection mode is different. In general, gasoline engines (except direct injection engines) mix gasoline and fuel and then enter the cylinder, while in diesel engines, diesel is directly injected into the cylinder which is already full of compressed air.
Secondly, the ignition mode is different.
Gasoline engines require spark plugs to ignite the mixture, whereas diesel engines are compressing.
At last, the compression ratio of diesel engine is different. The compression ratio of diesel engine is generally larger than that of gasoline engine. Therefore, its expansion ratio and thermal efficiency are higher and fuel consumption is lower than that of gasoline engine.
