60 Vehicle Regular Fault and Solution Part 5

Nov 12, 2021

41. Fog in headlamp

Fault determination: true fault.

Cause analysis: there is a plastic or rubber ventilation channel on the rear cover of the headlamp. This channel must exist in the structure of the headlamp, otherwise the thermally expanded gas cannot be eliminated, and this ventilation channel can only give out gas and can not give in water.

Solution: if there is slight fog, it will disperse quickly after air circulation or turning on the headlamp. If there is always water or fog, it needs to be eliminated by a professional automobile maintenance factory.

42. The vehicle makes a "creak" sound when walking on uneven roads or passing through the deceleration isolation belt

Fault determination: false fault.

Cause analysis: Generally speaking, whether new or old, there will be a "creak" sound when walking on uneven roads or passing through the road deceleration isolation belt. The new car will be quieter, the old car will be louder, this is not a fault. This is because many vehicles adopt independent suspension structure, and the connecting parts adopt rubber parts in order to reduce vibration. When the vehicle vibration reaches a certain degree, the sound will be made due to the deformation of the rubber parts. When the vibration amplitude is relatively small, the sound will be relatively small.

43. The pedal makes a slight "squeak" sound when stepping on the clutch

Fault determination: false fault.

Cause analysis: this phenomenon is caused by slight wear of the clutch pedal support shaft due to long-term use. Generally, it is OK to apply some lubricant to the support shaft.

44. The liquid level in the oil cup of the brake master cylinder decreases continuously with use

Fault determination: false fault.

Cause analysis: with the use of the vehicle, the brake pads gradually wear and become thinner, and the brake fluid in the master cylinder oil cup continuously enters the brake wheel cylinder, which is normal. When the new brake pads are replaced, the brake fluid level can return to the original height.

45. There is a slight "air leakage" sound when stepping on the brake pedal

Fault determination: false fault.

Cause analysis: This is the sound made by the vacuum booster.

46. When stepping on the brake pedal, there is a "click" sound at the shift lever

Fault determination: false fault.

Cause analysis: automatic transmission vehicles generally have the function of preventing misoperation of the shift lever to prevent safety accidents caused by misoperation of the driver or passengers in the vehicle. Therefore, the shift lever cannot be moved without pressing the brake pedal in the "P" position. The "click" sound at the shift lever is the sound made when the solenoid valve acts. Each time the brake pedal is pressed, the solenoid valve will make a sound.

47. When the clutch pedal is pressed for a small amount, it is not happy when holding the gear, and sometimes there is a sound of gear impact when engaging the gear

Fault determination: false fault.

Cause analysis: the clutch of some cars uses a pull wire type. After using for a period of time, the clutch pedal will gradually become lower. When stepping on the clutch, I feel that the travel is short and it is not happy when shifting. Sometimes, there will be the sound of gear impact when shifting. This is because the thread of the fixed lock nut for cable adjustment rotates automatically with the increase of the number of times of depressing the clutch pedal. This is not a fault. Just rotate the fixed locking nut slightly.

48. During refueling, the engine speed increases, but the vehicle speed cannot be increased

Fault determination: true fault.

Cause analysis: if it is found that the vehicle cannot speed up with the increase of engine speed during acceleration, especially during rapid acceleration, for manual transmission, it is generally caused by the damage of clutch plate. Automatic transmission vehicles are generally caused by the damage of the friction plate in the transmission. At this time, you can no longer accelerate to avoid greater economic losses.

Solution: seek help or slowly drive the vehicle to the repair shop for repair.

49. There is a slight "rattle" sound when the door glass is lifting

Fault determination: maintenance fault.

Cause analysis: when the car is used for a period of time, there will be a slight "rattle" sound when the door glass rises and falls. Especially on the driver's side. This is mainly because of the strong wind and sand in the north, and some small dust and gravel are often left at the contact between the door glass and the sealant strip, resulting in noise during glass lifting. At this time, the sealant strip of the door glass and the dust in the chute shall be cleaned in time, otherwise the door glass will be scratched.

50. The safety belt does not retract freely

Fault determination: false fault. Cause analysis: the automatic retractable safety belt of some vehicles will appear after being used for a period of time. When the safety belt is loosened, it cannot be retracted in time. Generally, this is caused by the dirty safety belt, which can be solved as long as it is cleaned.
